From expected deposit to refund record
  1. Expected depositRecord the amount expected under the lease
  2. Confirm receiptVerify the deposit actually received
  3. Deductions, if anyCheck charges, supporting records and amounts
  4. Refund and recordKeep a record after arranging the actual refund
Illustrative workflow: expected and received deposits are separate records. Review any deductions first. Arrange the actual refund separately and record it; the system does not transfer funds.

Separate expected and received deposits

A pending deposit associated with a lease is not proof of payment. Record the collection date after receiving the funds and check the tenant, room, amount and status.

Record returns and deductions

Review the refundable balance and record returns or deductions. Reconcile the deposit ledger after completing move-out settlement. Recording a return does not transfer money; make the payment separately.

Check access before use

Deposit management is included in current plans, including Free. Your company must have the feature enabled and your role must allow the action. Landlords who manage their own properties also use the company workspace.
