How is this calculated? Limits and assumptions
- Net balance = deposit received + other refund or prepaid credit − unpaid rent − final utilities − agreed damage deductions − other deductions.
- A positive balance is a refund; the absolute value of a negative balance is an additional amount to review. Zero means the entries offset. Inputs accept up to two decimal places and are added in cents.
- The parties must review responsibility, evidence and the agreement. This tool does not decide whether a deduction, normal wear claim or penalty is lawful.
NT$ results are displayed as whole dollars; calculations retain cents. Rates and meter usage keep necessary decimals.
Estimates only. The parties’ agreement and applicable law prevail.

Frequently asked questions
What if deductions exceed the deposit?
The negative balance is preserved as an additional amount due for review, not silently reduced to zero. The parties must still agree on responsibility and payment.
Can utilities be settled before the bill arrives?
Use a mutually agreed estimate with supporting information, then reconcile against the actual bill. This worksheet is not a Taipower bill.
